About Pleasure

I wrote "Pleasure" one night in Troy, NY on a whim after having a sudden urge to write a setting of Watts's "Now shall my inward joys arise" text. A cheerful and simple fuging tune, Pleasure animates Watts's text, though it certainly doesn't approach the sublime chordal beauty of Billings's popular setting.
